Symmetry

This isn't perfect, rather, an OCD's nightmare. Still, it gave me an unexpected meditation. That for a few minutes I'm neither thinking nor moving, just staring at the other end of this bridge. It's just me, I'm weird.

I don't think my nephew has gone to the beach prior this, but he sure did had a great time.

The Katipunan's second in command

Either, my nationalism is pretty much intact, or this guy is my neighbor from another time, I'm still proud I hail from a small city with so much to offer historically. Unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way, not even our government.

A sad truth

I found myself lucky enough that I get to help the needy, but a sad truth had struck me. These people, our seniors, were someone during their heyday. We don't know who they are but I'm pretty sure they weren't this miserable at some part of their lives. One of them even approached me, saying that I looked like her husband, then got mad at me and said, "He's dead", and that left me pretty much in shock.

At some point in our lives, we will find ourselves, alone, almost begging for attention. I can even see that from my parents now. However, can you choose between your dreams and your parents? Honestly, I can't answer that question yet.

Some childhood nostalgia

Back then, I was so excited with theme parks and its rides.. For some reason that excitement is gone, and I'd rather take its picture than to experience it again. I can't say I don't like it anymore, I even pushed my niece to ride this (She's in there somewhere). I guess I'm just getting old? Or maybe, I'd rather have kids experience this and capture their laughter instead.

Its raining! Not!

Regada! The annual celebration for St. John the Baptist. Also closely resembles Thailand's Songkran Day. Just saying.

Umm... err.. caskets!

At first glance, I thought, why they let their dead be treated this way.. On a second thought, maybe, it hasn't been this way all along, that they'd had no choice but to do this.

The very first picture I took. Then Mom took down this tree. It was replaced of course.

So near yet so far, I wish I could find time to visit and enter historic places of my hometown such as the first Philippine President's house.

Bananas anyone?

This monkey learned to accept food from everyone, and the kids in the area are happy to oblige for their own enjoyment. Not for the monkey's sake. Just ironic, can't be helped though.

This suddenly showed up while learning to take a night city scape, totally forgetting about the Int'l Pyromusical Competiton.

Another war memorial

A garden built where some Japanese soldiers were buried after the war. A great reminder for me that, no matter who the aggressor is, one could still find peace within them. Conflicts initiated most wars, not hatred nor evil intent.

Playing with fire

Smell of gas, grease from charcoal, non-stop sweat from movement and heat, yet all they are asking for is a few change and appreciation. Sweet stuff

How's your faith?

From what I remember, Jesus did say, those who had not committed any sin, should cast the first stone. As humans however, it happens a lot, and most of the times, using other Jesus' teachings to show one's fault, forgetting that as His follower, we should be sharing love above everything else.

Though I may not be Catholic, I hope Pope Francis advocates the same for the sake of their Church and its followers.

Evolution of gaming

I find it funny that before, we can't keep kids off the streets to play games whereas now, schools have to incorporate games on their P.E. time to keep traditional games like this alive.

Oblivious

Sometimes, the best subjects are the oblivious ones. And sometimes, the best pictures are the ones captured obliviously. We were both oblivious at this time, and I find this my best accidental photo so far.

Memories of war

A pre-world war lighthouse, still standing proudly at a previous military installation, after numerous repairs and restorations. It now stands as a reminder to tourists that there were awfully bad times in history than the world we live in today.
